<p><strong>ABOUT CENTER FOR ALCOHOL & DRUG SERVICES, INC.</strong></p> <p>One of six facilities located throughout Iowa and Illinois, the Center for Alcohol & Drug Services, Inc. (CADS) is a network of treatment facilities that offer treatment for <strong>adults and adolescents</strong> struggling with substance abuse. </p> <p>Along with outpatient treatment for adolescents, CADS provides <strong>residential, outpatient, medication-assisted treatment(MAT), and transitional housing for adults</strong>. It is one 117 outpatient <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/IL16.pdf" target="_blank">methadone maintenance programs in Illinois.</a> </p> <p>CADS also offers a designated treatment program for women and children. On-site detoxification is also available through CADS' Country Oaks facility of Iowa.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Upon intake into a treatment program, clients first undergo an initial evaluation to determine an appropriate level of care. If a higher level of monitoring and structure is necessary, the client may be referred to residential care. While information is limited concerning the residential program, clients participate in a <strong>highly-structured schedule of counseling sessions</strong>, educational workshops, and peer-led support groups to help clients learn new coping skills to maintain sobriety.</p> <p>CADS' outpatient programs include both intensive (IOP) and extended levels of care, depending on the needs of the client. Both adult and adolescent outpatient programs involve <strong>individual, family, and group counseling sessions</strong>. The length of the program is determined by the needs of each individual client.</p> <p>Along its traditional outpatient programs, CADS also operates a <strong>methadone outpatient program</strong>, which provides adjunct <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/medication-assisted-treatment/" target="_blank">medication-assisted treatment</a> (MAT) along with substance abuse treatment for individuals struggling with opioid addiction. Clients participate in a methadone regimen while participating in counseling and education sessions.</p> <p>In addition, CADS operates a <strong>Women and Children's Services</strong> program that offers ancillary and supportive services designed to <strong>support and empower mothers with children</strong> who are recovering from chemical dependency. CADS is also licensed to provide <strong>DUI evaluation and risk education classes</strong> for both offenders in Iowa and Illinois. In Illinois, the CADS is among the 12.8 facilities to provide specialized programming for <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/IL17.pdf" target="_blank">pregnant or postpartum women</a>.</p> <p>To provide ongoing support for its clients, CADS offers continuing care programs for both adults and adolescents. The survey respondent gave a one out of five star rating for the experience and training of staff, but did give a more positive three-star rating for the facility's counseling options and discharge planning. </p> <p><strong>WHAT STAFF SAY</strong></p> <p>On Glassdoor, secondary reviews indicated moderately critical employee opinions of the organization. Seven employees gave the facility an average rating of <strong>2.4 out of five stars</strong>, reporting low compensation and lack of leadership. <small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-3"><sup>[3]</sup></a></small> "Many good employees were lost due to poor management decisions and very low pay," one representative reviewer wrote.</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>According to the facility's website, CADS accepts self-payment.
