<p><strong>ABOUT MACNEAL HOSPITAL - PSYCHIATRY & BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES</strong></p> <p>The Psychiatry & Behavioral Health division at MacNeal Hospital, located in the western Chicago suburb of Berwyn, offers inpatient and outpatient-based treatment for individuals struggling with <strong>chemical dependency and <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring mental health disorders</a></strong>. Out of five stars, the two former patients polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave four- and five-star ratings for the facility's overall accommodations. </p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The two alumni polled by Rehabs.com both reported sustained sobriety and praised most aspects of the facility, specifically the staff, both offering perfect five-star ratings for the treatment staff’s level of experience and training. “The staff was friendly and supportive. Many were recovering addicts so they spoke from educational and personal experience,” alum R.A.K. wrote</p> <p>Alum R.A.K. also awarded perfect five-star ratings for the overall effectiveness of group and individual counseling and appreciated the incorporation of 12-Step.“The steps set me on the path of spiritual growth. I have been sober ever since,” R.A.K. added.</p> <p>The other alum supported these positive opinions, offering maximum five-star ratings for the facility’s counseling options, the facility's ability to treat co-occurring disorders, and its discharge planning. "I was in this facility over a year ago," the anonymous alum wrote. "I'm still sober [and] the after care was great also."</p> <p>However, the two alumni suggested holistic options may not be a prominent part of the program based on their one- and three-star ratings for this metric. Although the anonymous former client described the overall program as “very well organized,“ they cited “Not enough activities” as a weakness.</p> <p><strong>WHAT STAFF SAY</strong></p> <p>Secondary sources revealed moderately positive employee opinions of the hospital, as a whole.
