There's also an outpatient program specifically for adolescents, which is a specialty service provided by just 26.5 percent of treatment centers in Illinois.

The extended residential homes are gender-specific and require residents to gain full-time employment within one week of admission into the 90-day program. The facility also provides five to nine hours of treatment services a week.

Clients staying in Serenity House's sober living facilities must attend a minimum of three support group meetings a week and participate in a weekly one-hour recovery management group.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The treatment team includes outpatient counselors, adolescent counselors, and certified addiction counselors for the men’s and women’s extended-care homes.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Serenity House has a total of seven gender-specific sober living facilities spread throughout Addison, Naperville, and Villa Park. Both the sober living homes and extended-care homes provide meals and enforce strict nightly curfews.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

Of the five former clients surveyed by Rehabs.com to date, two gave the facility positive feedback, while three provided negative feedback. Mark and James, the two positive reviewers, described Serenity House as a helpful treatment center with solid programming and staff. "Great Halfway house with a great program and staff," James wrote in a review representative of positive feedback, offering perfect five-star ratings for the respect shown to clients, the training of counselors, effectiveness of individual counseling, and conflict resolution.

The three unhappy reviewers, who all participated in the extended-care programs, complained that Serenity House provided minimal therapy and staffed unfocused counselors. In a review representative of negative feedback, Ted wrote: "They do not do much counceling. They say one hour a week at half way house, but is more like 30 minutes at best with councelor who is focused on doing something else at the time."

Serenity House Counseling Services received positive feedback on secondary sites, earning an average rating of 4.4 out of five starsbased on 10 Google reviews[1] and a 4.8 out of five star rating based on the opinions of 39 individuals on Facebook, which the facility may manage.[2]. Across both sites, the majority of alumni who left feedback reported that the facility provided effective, well-organized structured treatment.
