<p><strong>ABOUT CDCSB β€” COBB RECOVERY CENTER AND RESIDENTIAL SERVICES</strong></p> <p>The Cobb Recovery Center (CRC) is operated by the Cobb County and Douglas County Community Service Boards (CDCSB), a <strong>state-funded provider</strong> of behavioral health services. Located in the community of Marietta, 20 miles north of Atlanta, the center offers a range of <strong>outpatient-based treatment services</strong> for youth and adults struggling with chemical dependency. In addition, CDCSB offers a number of gender-specific residential programs for women, mothers with children, men, and adolescents. Detoxification services are provided through CDCSB's Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC).</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Befiore beginning a treatment program, clients participate in an <strong>initial assessment to identify specific concerns</strong> and determine an appropriate level of care. If necessary, clients may undergo detoxification through BHCC, which also provides short-term and acute care for other psychiatric and behavioral health disorders. After stabilization, the client may be referred to an appropriate program to continue treatment.</p> <p>CDCSB offers several specialized, residential chemical dependency programs, including Mothers Making a Change, an intensive outpatient program (IOP) with <strong>optional residential facilities for pregnant women</strong> or those with children under 18. More intensive, the Pregnant Women Program (PPW) Residential Program serves as a day program, providing programming from 9 am. to 2 p.m daily, though also offers residential housing and on-site monitoring. </p> <p>New Start, a <strong>30-day men’s program</strong> also offers IOP with transitional housing, while adolescents in need of residential care may be admitting into the George W. Hartmann Center, a residential program for <strong>adolescents aged 13 to 17.</strong> George W. Hartmann Center also <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/why-your-teen-may-think-pot-is-no-big-deal/" target="_blank">accepts adolescents</a> struggling with co-occurring disorders. </p> <p>While enrolled in a residential program, clients participate in a range of <strong>evidence-based treatments</strong> that are also utilized by the Cobb Recovery Center (CRC) for outpatient-based clientele. Clients participate in <strong>individual, group, and family therapy,</strong> trauma recovery, and substance abuse education. Clients with co-occurring mental health concerns may also receive psychiatric evaluations and <strong>ongoing medication management</strong>. </p> <p>Life skills training options are also offered on all courses of treatment, such as<strong>GED enrichment</strong> and HIV education and prevention. Some elements of residential programming is determined by the specific program and the unique needs of its clients.. For example, mothers may attend <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/the-secret-to-stopping-addiction-in-your-family-forever/" target="_blank">parenting classes</a>, while adolescents receive <strong>academic instruction</strong> through Marietta City School system. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>CDCSB's treatment team consists of certified addiction counselors, licensed professional counselors, nurses, consulting psychiatrists, teachers, case managers, and behavioral health technicians. </p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>There is currently no information provided by the organization regarding the living arrangements and related offerings of various residential facilities. However, <strong>childcare services are available</strong> for mothers during treatment hours. </p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The three alumni polled by Rehabs.com to date generally approved of their respective facility. Out of five stars, the survey respondents gave ratings of three-, four-, and five-star ratings for the treatment staff's level of experience and training. Offering a four-star rating for the facility's discharge planning, one anonymous alum wrote: "Well trained staff," but did feel the facility could serve healthier food. </p> <p>The three alumni did feel counseling options could improve. offering ratings for one and two stars for this aspect of treatment. Survey respondents were split concerning the amount of family participation. Two alumni gave this aspect of treatment one-star ratings, while one alum offered a five-star rating for family participation. One alum who participated in detoxification wrote: "Medical treatment was good, while another appreciated that treatment was available to non-insured clients.</p> <p>Secondary sources revealed polarized opinions of the treatment provider. On Google reviews, <strong>five individuals gave the organization an average rating of 2.6 out of five stars</strong>.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> While some alumni felt the facility was overall effective, others were critical of the staff. "Great service for our county citizens working through their behavioral health concerns," Laura, a representative reviewer, wrote. However, another reviewer wrote: "The workers are rude and exactly what you would expect from government help."</p> <p><strong>WHAT STAFF SAY</strong></p> <p>Secondary sources revealed more positive opinions of the organization among employees. On Indeed, <strong>four employees gave the facility an average rating of 4.8 out of five stars</strong>. Reviewers cited co-workers and management as strength of the treatment provider. "Productive and fun workplace with great employees," one representative employer wrote. </p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>CDCSB accepts <strong>Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance</strong>. In addition it offers sliding scale fees to qualifying clients.
