<p><strong>ABOUT NORTH TAMPA BEHAVIORAL HEALTH</strong></p> <p>Located in the greater Tampa Bay, Fla. area, North Tampa Behavioral Health is a private treatment facility providing <strong>drug and alcohol abuse treatment for adults, seniors, and military personnel.</strong> Through an inpatient program, partial hospitalization program (PHP), and intensive outpatient program (IOP), individuals with primary substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders can receive care. </p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>The goal at North Tampa Behavioral Health is tailored treatment for each individual's needs. </p> <p>The facility offers an array of treatment options including behavioral approaches such as <strong>cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and medication management.</strong> Group therapies, including process groups, psycho-educational groups, and skill-based groups, are important pieces of the facility's program. Groups may focus on developing coping skills, managing triggers, and relapse prevention.</p> <p>Recreational activities are another aspect of treatment and <strong>transcranial magentic stimulation (TMS) therapy</strong> may be used for clients with major depression. The program's <strong>family involvement</strong> includes family consultations and connections to outside resources. </p> <p>In addition to inpatient programs, the facility offers a PHP which meets six hours a day, five days a week, and an IOP meets three mornings a week.</p> <p><strong>The specialized Challenge Overcome Restore Empower (CORE) program for active duty and veteran men and women</strong> utilizes evidence-based treatment modalities including CBT, cognitive processing therapy (CPT), <a href="http://acceleratedresolutiontherapy.com/web/what-is-art/">accelerated resolution therapy (ART)</a> and exposure therapy in a military-oriented environment. In addition to individual, group, and family counseling, yoga, recreation, and meditation are part of the program. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>North Tampa Behavioral Health's treatment team includes <strong>doctors, nurses, psychiatrists,</strong> and support staff. Professionals involved in the military treatment program have military behavioral health experience. </p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>Pictures on the facility's website show a gymnasium, a courtyard, and a cafeteria. Accommodations are comfortable with a slight clinical appearance. Transportation is offered to outpatient programming. </p> <p>Two Rehabs.com survey respondents both rated the facility's cleanliness four out of five stars.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The single alum polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing did not feel the program give him the proper tools and information to aid in recovery. The alum rated the consistency of group meetings, staff support, and holistic offerings only one out of five stars. "It was not effective, poorly staffed, not anything like it was advertised. There was limited treatment, no groups, nothing scheduled," the anonymous alum wrote. </p> <p><strong>Reviews from secondary sources to date revealed a trend of dissatisfaction.</strong> On Google, 44 reviewers gave an average rating of 2.2 out of five stars.<small class="footnote"><a href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> Likewise, 25 reviewers on Yelp rated the facility only 1.64 stars.<small class="footnote"><a href="#footnote-2"><sup>[2]</sup></a></small> Many alumni complained of uncaring, rude staff members and former clients felt they did not receive treatment at all. "Care and concern for patients and/or their family members there for the patient is deplorable," Dan wrote on Google. </p> <p>However, a few alumni reported positive experiences, including William, who participated in the CORE program. "Once I went through one on on did ART (accelerated resolution therapy), yoga , psycho education , process group and many more programs I feel like a new person," William wrote on Google. </p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>The sole loved one of a client who reviewed the facility on Rehabs.com gave similar feedback as alumni. The family member gave only one star for the program's family involvement, staff qualifications, and the quality of executive leadership. "The treatment was not as it was stated in the brochure," the anonymous loved one wrote. They did, however, rate staff support three out of five stars and pricing five stars.</p> <p>On Google and Yelp, loved ones had complaints similar to alumni, in addition to lack of communication from staff.</p> <p><strong>WHAT STAFF SAY</strong></p> <p>Rehabs.com has not yet received reviews from staff of the facility, however, eight former and current employees rated the facility an average of 2.8 out of five stars on Glassdoor.<small class="footnote"><a href="#footnote-3"><sup>[3]</sup></a></small> Several staff members complained of understaffing and disorganization. "Structure is lacking," one staffer wrote. </p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>North Tampa Behavioral Health accepts most major insurance plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Humana, and Tricare.
