ABOUT AGENCY FOR COMMUNITY TREATMENT SERVICES, INC. – KEYSTONE RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT PROGRAM

The Agency for Community Treatment Services, Inc. (ACTS), a community-based health agency, has delivered treatment services and social support for clients and their families since 1978. The Keystone Residential Program in Tarpon Springs, Fla., one of the organization’s many programs, provides a co-ed residential treatment program for adults with drug abuse and co-occurring disorders.

The facility also serves as an alternative to incarceration for both the Pinellas County and Hillsborough County jails. Detoxification services are available at other ACTS locations, but not at this program.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

An initial assessment includes an interview to determine the most appropriate behavioral health services. Each client is assigned a case manager who helps create a treatment plan, discharge plan, and an ongoing recovery plan.

The treatment program is open to adults with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. However, severed mental health disorders that cannot be controlled are not allowed in the program. Clients that require medical and extreme medicinal intervention to safely participate in the program are also excluded. Clients with a history of violence in other programs, sexual misconduct, or outstanding warrants are also excluded.

Programming is evidence-based and individualized based on the initial assessment. Treatment includes individual and group therapy, recreational therapy, random drug screening, and medication management. Educational groups focus on topics including recreation, decision-making, living skills, finances, relationships, nutrition, and more.

Seeking Safety helps clients deal with trauma issues during weekly gender-specific groups.
