<p><strong>ABOUT THE OASIS AT TAMPA COMMUNITY HOSPITAL</strong></p> <p>The Oasis at Tampa Community Hospital, formerly called Town and Country Hospital, is located in Tampa, Fla. and offers <strong>hospital-based/medically supervised detox and outpatient treatment</strong> for <strong>adult men and women struggling with substance abuse</strong>. The facility views addiction as a treatable disease, not a weakness and works to offer a private and comfortable environment for clients to recover. Located on the second floor of Tampa Community Hospital, clients receive around the clock medical care and can be quickly transferred to the medical floor if any complications arise during detox.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>The facility’s treatment provides <strong>around the clock medical supervision</strong> during the detox phase. Clients are admitted to the program seven days per week, 24 hours a day, pending insurance approval if applicable. In order to be admitted, clients receive a screening to determine if placement is appropriate and staff will assist in verifying insurance coverage. Most clients remain in detox for <strong>three to seven days</strong>.</p> <p><strong>Medication, including Suboxone and Campral, is administered throughout treatment</strong>. Clients will also receive a prescription written a the time of discharge based on individual need.</p> <p>Clients receive <strong>education on addiction</strong> during their stay and may also participate in <strong>group therapy or individual counseling</strong>. These services may continue after detox on an outpatient basis. The hospital also offers an Intensive Outpatient Program which meets in the evenings three nights per week. The facility will also assist to links clients up with community support groups such as <strong>Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)</strong> for additional support following rehab.</p> <p><strong>Families are included</strong> in the treatment program through support services providing addiction education within the context of family dynamics. Alumni and their families are eligible to receive <strong>aftercare services for up to two years</strong> following treatment.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>The treatment team includes <strong>medical staff on duty 24 hours per day, 7 days per week</strong> including a staff of <strong>registered nurses</strong> specially trained in addictionology. Physicians are on-hand for daily conferences to discuss an diagnostic testing reports, patient’s progress, discharge status, and plan for continued recovery after detox.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>The facility offers <strong>16 private bedrooms for male and female clients</strong> in a hospital setting. The facility is equipped with fully adjustable hospital beds in each room to increase the client’s comfort while maintaining safety. There are laundry facilities on the unit. Most clients stay on the unit for three to seven days while detoxing. Clients may not bring cell phones, electronics, laptops, or anything that would plug into a wall socket. No outside food, medication, or personal hygiene items are allowed; these will be provided by the facility.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>Rehabs.com has not received feedback from alumni of The Oasis at Tampa Community Hospital at the time of this writing. On the facility’s Facebook page, which it can manage, there is an overall rating of <strong>4.3 out of five stars</strong> based on 98 total reviews.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> On YellowPages.com the facility has a <strong>two- out of five-star</strong> rating based on eight reviews.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-2"><sup>[2]</sup></a></small> Note, an overwhelming amount of reviews are based on the Hospital as a whole, rather than its rehab program.</p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>At the time of this writing, the sole friend or family member surveyed by Rehabs.com gave a glowing review of the facility.</p> <p>The loved one gave the facility five out of five stars for most metrics evaluated, including treatment effectiveness, the level of staff support, the quality of holistic treatment offerings, the leadership of staff, the level of family involvement in treatment, and the extent to which they felt the marketing materials were accurately representative of their loved one's treatment experience. The loved one was involved in helping the client pay for treatment, visited the client during treatment, and did stay in regular contact with the client.</p> <p>The loved one added that the client stopped abusing addictive substances, stopped engaging in addictive/harmful behavior, and that the client benefited from the care they received at the facility. The loved one would recommend this facility to a friend or loved one who was considering rehab. He added additional commentary stating, “My son is clean !”</p> <p><strong>WHAT STAFF SAY</strong></p> <p>To date, one staff member submitted feedback to Rehabs.com. The anonymous staff member gave the facility <strong>four out of five stars</strong> each for treatment effectiveness, accommodations & amenities, and meals & nutrition. </p> <p>She strongly agreed that the facility staff were experienced and well-trained; that the facility was adequately equipped and staffed to treat co-occurring mental health problems in addition to substance use disorders; and that the staff member would recommend this facility to a friend or loved one who was considering rehab. She felt that strengths of the facility were the counselors and nursing staff.</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>The facility accepts <strong>most major insurance plans</strong> including <strong>Medicare, Medicaid and Medipass</strong>. Treatment staff will verify insurance coverage prior to the start of the program.
