ABOUT ANEWU RECOVERY

Located in Tampa, Fla., AnewU is an opiate addiction treatment program for adults. The facility offers an outpatient, medically supervised Suboxone program, on which all clients work toward the goal of ultimately tapering off Suboxone completely. AnewU is among the 29.3 percent of Florida-based rehabs that offer Suboxone programming and among the 11.7 percent that offer outpatient detox services. AnewU also operates a facility in Clearwater, Fla.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Treatment begins with an initial consultation, including a minor physical exam. At their first appointment, clients should be in mild to moderate withdrawal from opiates โ the facility advises stopping opiates 12 to 15 hours before beginning treatment. The first dose of Suboxone is provided at the first appointment, and should ease withdrawal immediately.

Clients leave the office with a prescription for Suboxone that can be filled at the facility itself or at a pharmacy of their choice. They must attend a free follow-up meeting one week later, where they'll receive a prescription for the rest of the month. From then on, they'll be on a monthly meeting schedule, when they'll attend the facility for a check-up and to get their prescription refilled. Appointments are available on evenings and weekends, to suit a variety of schedules.

Clients typically start out on 12-16 mg of Suboxone each day until they stabilize, and begin tapering their dose after two to four months. The facility aims to ultimately taper clients off Suboxone completely.

Note, AnewU does not provide counseling as a matter of course, though counseling is available for those clients who desire it. The center appears to be in the 23.4 percent of Florida-based rehabs that do not offer mental health services, though it does provide referrals to local support groups.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

There is currently no information provided by AnewU regarding its treatment staff, but the single alum surveyed by Rehabs.com to date gave the facility three out of five stars for the level of staff support provided, the level of training found in counselors, and the level of medical care provided. In addition, Suboxone can only be prescribed by a medical professional.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

"They did everything they said they would do. They had meetings with me similar to AA and it helped," was the appraisal of the single alum polled by Rehabs.com to date. The reviewer indicated that they would recommend AnewU, and gave the facility four stars for the overall quality of its group counseling, but just two stars for its holistic offerings.

The center also has mostly positive feedback on secondary sites, with average ratings of 4.5 out of five stars based on 19 reviews on Google and 4.9 stars based on 10 opinions on Facebook, where the facility can manage its own page, as well as three five-star ratings on YellowPages.com.[1] [2] [3] Two reviewers complained of administrative problems: namely, long wait times at the facility, and nobody answering the phone.

But other reviewers repeatedly thanked the center's warm, caring staff for helping them to get clean and sober, and even thanked the facility for saving their lives. "They really care for you so many other places only care about the money I've used the Tampa location for almost a year an can't imagine going anywhere else. These guys most certainly helped save my life," Lacy wrote in a representative comment on Google.

FINANCING

There is currently no information provided on the facility's website regarding its cost, though the site does note that payment plans are available for those who need them. The single individual polled by Rehabs.com to date noted that treatment was worth the cost.

[1] GoogleReviews
[2] https://www.facebook.com/pg/anewurecovery/reviews/?ref=page_internal
[3] https://www.yellowpages.com/tampa-fl/mip/anewu-recovery-inc-464500098?lid=464500098
