Both programs are long-term and last for <strong>10 weeks</strong>. The Salvation Army of Sarasota is one of 139 non-hospital treatment facilities in Florida (just <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/FL17.pdf" target="_blank">21 percent</a> of all facilities in the state) to provide residential treatment that lasts longer than 30 days.</p> <p>The VIP-ER and CRP programs are <strong>12-step based</strong>. Clients attend <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/how-a-non-religious-journalist-makes-a-case-for-aa-in-2017/" target="_blank">12-step</a> meetings and "work the steps" while residing in the home. The CRP also provides <strong>individual counseling</strong>, group therapy, and educational classes, along with <strong>life skills workshops</strong>, worship services, <a href="http://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/time-is-no-longer-an-excuse-not-to-meditate/" target="_blank">spiritual counseling and mentoring</a>, and Bible study sessions.</p> <p>The Addiction Recovery Program for inmates provides services to individuals in the <strong>Sarasota County Jail</strong>. Available to both men and women, the program facilitates regular 12-step meetings (14 per week), as well as sober living skill workshops. Upon release, individuals are expected to transition into a community-based program.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>According to the facility's website, most treatment programs are largely facilitated by <strong>volunteers</strong>, who serve as instructors, recovery coaches, spiritual mentors, and counselors. Many staffers also have first-hand experience in the process of recovery.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>Residential treatment programs operated by the Salvation Army typically house residents in <strong>gender-specific dorms</strong>. The one alum surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave the Sarasota facility five out of five stars for its cleanliness.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>R.L.M., the one alum polled by Rehabs.com to date, gave the Life Recovery Programs a positive review. While they did not specific which program they attended, they awarded it five out of five stars for the overall quality of its counseling, its staff's level of training and experience, its frequency and consistency of meetings, its staff support, and its extracurricular activities. "I came into rehab hopeless and drinking myself to death and they loved me and taught me the tools to maintain sobriety," they wrote.</p> <p>On its Facebook page<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small>, which the Salvation Army has the ability to edit, the Sarasota Life Recovery Programs received a <strong>4.6 out of five star</strong> rating based on the opinions of 140 individuals. Fallon wrote in a representative review.</p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS AND FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>The sole loved one surveyed by Rehabs.com to date, an anonymous female over the age of 60, gave the Life Recovery positive feedback. She awarded the programs four out of five stars for their family participation, their affordability, and their administrative and discharge procedures, and when asked, on a scale from one to five, if she would recommend them, she gave a rating of five. "Exx ellent program which works," she wrote.</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>The Life Recovery Programs are provided at <strong>no cost to clients</strong>.
