<p><strong>ABOUT NEW HOPE C.O.R.P.S.</strong></p> <p>Located in the community of Homestead, Fla. 40 miles south of Miami, New Hope C.O.R.P.S. provides one of the state's just <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/FL17.pdf" target="_blank">295 (44.2 percent)</a> <strong>residential programs for men only.</strong> The facility also offers outpatient programs, case management, and <strong>transitional housing for men and women</strong> struggling with chemical dependency, as well as co-occurring mental health concerns. The non-profit, faith-based organization <strong>specifically treats low-income, indigent, and homeless individuals</strong>. Although New Hope does not offer medical detoxification on-site, individuals may be referred to appropriate facilities before admission, if necessary.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>To identify any co-occurring mental health disorders, determine the severity of addiction, and individualize treatment, clients may undergo an <strong>initial assessment upon intake</strong>. If a client requires supervision and structure to achieve sobriety, the individual may be referred to the residential program. New Hope C.O.R.P.S.'s programming is based on the <strong>principles and practices of 12-Step</strong>, evidence-based treatment methods, and skills training.</p> <p>During the residential program, clients adhere to a structured schedule of daily programming in a therapeutic community model of recovery. Residents participate in <strong>group counseling sessions, psychoeducation classes, and skills training workshops</strong>. In addition, residents regularly attend 12-step meetings and "work the steps" throughout the program. As a faith-based treatment program, residents may also attend worship services and <strong>participate in Bible study sessions</strong>.</p> <p>As a men's-only facility, counseling <strong>sessions may address issues relevant to men</strong> in recovery, such as managing anger, improving self-esteem, and regulating emotion. To address any <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring mental health disorders</a>, New Hope also offers a range of mental health services, which may include specialized counseling, psychiatric evaluations, and <strong>medication management</strong>. </p> <p>To prepare residents for independent living, New Hope C.O.R.P.S. also provides** life skills training**, which may involve sessions on money management, daily living skills, improving communication, and obtaining employment. After completing the residential program, clinicians may encourage clients to "step-down" to the non-profit's outpatient program. </p> <p>Outpatient programs may involve 12-step study sessions, educational classes, and group counseling. New Hope C.O.R.P.S. also operates <strong>transitional housing for individuals who require additional support</strong> or stable housing during early recovery. In addition, the organization provides <strong>job placement assistance</strong> and helps program alumni locate permanent housing. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>According to the facility's website, New Hope C.O.R.P.S. is run by a "professionally licensed and clinically trained staff." These staff members may include licensed substance abuse and mental health counselors, psychiatrists, social workers, case managers, and support staff. Volunteers also help to support the agency.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>There is currently no information provided by the facility regarding its living arrangements and related offerings. However, the two loved ones polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing both gave a four out of five-star rating for the facility's cleanliness and upkeep. Contrastingly, another former client remarked upon poor food and accommodations.</p> <p>The sole Facebook reviewer at the time of this writing provided a five-star rating but left no written feedback.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-2"><sup>[2]</sup></a></small></p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>The two loved ones polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing praised many areas of the facility, specifically the <strong>support of staff.</strong> Out of five stars, both survey respondents offered four-star ratings for the staff's level of experience and training and the facility's discharge planning, as well as four- and five-star ratings for the amount of family participation. "My son is a functioning and working individual again," one parent wrote, citing the facility's faith-based approach as a strength. Offering a four-star rating for the facility's ability to treat co-occurring disorders, the other loved one added, "They were very supportive."</p> <p>Much like the alumni who reported to Google, loved ones expressed opposing opinions on secondary sites as well.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> " The staff is incredibly compassionate and caring," M.C. wrote, adding that he attended a family visiting session and was able to witness the staff's hospitality. However, another loved one, the wife of a former client, described strictness from the staff and poor quality programming.</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>There is currently no information provided on the facility's website regarding its costs. However, treatment agencies who typically serve low-income clientele provide their services on a sliding fee scale, dependent on the individual's ability to pay.
