ABOUT SUNRISE DETOX CENTER – LAKE WORTH

One of seven upscale facilities operated by Sunrise Detox Center throughout the states of Florida and New Jersey, the facility of Lake Worth, Fla. provides comprehensive detoxification services for individuals struggling with drug addiction and/or alcohol dependency. In addition to medical monitoring, Sunrise Detox Center also offers short-term inpatient care to address the psychiatric, emotional, and social contributors to the addictive behavior of individuals. Out of 203 short-term residential programs, it is one of 73 (10.2 percent) to provide detoxification services as well.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Before participating in medical detoxification, clients first undergo an initial psychosocial assessment and brief medical examination to guide clinicians in forming a detoxification plan. Along with the client’s age and health, the length of detox depends on the type of chemical dependency. According to the facility’s website, alcohol treatment typically lasts four to five days, opiate treatment lasts roughly seven days, and detoxifying from benzodiazepines can last between 10 and 12 days.

Sunrise Detox Center utilizes a two-pronged approached to detoxification to address both the physical and psychological factors of addiction. If necessary, medication-assisted therapy (MAT), such as buprenorphine (Suboxone), is used to alleviate withdrawal symptoms associated with opiate/opioid addictions, while anti-seizure medications are prescribed for individuals struggling with alcohol dependency and/or benzodiazepines (Xanax, Valium) addiction. In addition, nutritional and well-balanced meals and snacks are served to address issues of malnourishment common during active addiction.

Along with the physical needs of each client, Sunrise Detox Center also facilitates individual and group counseling sessions to address the underlying social and psychological factors of addiction. The facility also hosts on-site 12-step meetings to introduce clients to the principles and practices of the recovery fellowship.

Once a client completes treatment, case managers help clients to form a plan for continuing care and can make arrangements for client transitions into longer-term treatment centers. Among the 86 percent of facilities in the United States that offers some form of continuing care, Sunrise Detox will work with the individual to get in contact with continuing care facilities and will imparting coping skills to help them deal with life in recovery.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

Accredited by the Joint Commission, Sunrise Detox Center of Lake Worth employs a qualified team of physicians, nurses, substance abuse counselors, therapists, case managers, and a support team of addiction specialists.
