<p><strong>ABOUT RIVER REGION HUMAN SERVICES</strong></p> <p>River Region Human Services (RRHS) offers a variety of services for youth, families, and adults at <strong>17 locations</strong> in northeastern Florida. This location is in Jacksonville. In addition to mental health and community services, the organization provides substance abuse offerings, including <strong>detoxification, residential treatment, and outpatient treatment</strong> for adults and adolescents. A <strong>methadone maintenance</strong> program is available, as are sober living facilities for adults.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Intake assessments are provided only at designated times for each program, and intake can take up to three or four hours.</p> <p>According to RRHS’s website, <strong>substance abuse treatment is based on the 12-step model</strong> and on family support systems. Although theses family members gave <strong>conflicting feedback</strong>, they did agree about certain strengths. Both respondents gave four or five stars for family participation, facility cleanliness, and connectivity. In fact, one mother, who remains anonymous, could think of no weaknesses and wrote “Considerate, kind, knowledgeable staff.” </p> <p>On the other hand, the other reviewer gave just one out of five stars for treatment effectiveness. “My teenage sister was inpatient at this facility,” the loved one wrote. “She went right back to her old ways immediately upon release from her program.”</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>RRHS is largely funded through federal, state, and local government grants and contracts.
