ABOUT RECOVERY COAST

Located in Jacksonville Beach, Fla., Recovery Coast is a private drug and alcohol rehab center that offers short-term addiction recovery programs. The rehabilitation center treats clients struggling with drug and substance abuse as well as co-occurring disorders. Services combine a faith-based approach with sailing, yoga, and other holistic opportunities. Detox services are not available on-site.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

In Waves of Grace, Recovery Coastβs Christian Counseling program, clients attend daily counseling groups and one-on-one and family sessions weekly. The traditional treatment curriculum is balanced with teachings from the Scripture through weekly Bible study.

Beyond 12-step based programming and talk therapy, yoga, art, and music therapy provide clients with alternative avenues to express themselves, foster a greater self-awareness, and reduce anxiety. Sailing trips on a 42-foot catamaran create opportunities for learning patience, humility, and team skills. Licensed yoga teachers lead hour-long sessions multiple times per week.

Recovery Coast also invites family members and significant others for its Family Weekend. In this optional, intimate program, clients and their families benefit from conflict resolution and training, discharge planning, and more.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

Recovery Coast staffs a physician with experience in addiction medicine and psychiatry and a Family Weekend Leader, who is both a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and an ordained minister. The director of Waves of Grace is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) and holds a Doctorate of Theology. Some staff members also are in recovery themselves.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Recovery Coastβs main facility is an attractive building with rounded arches, large windows, and lush shrubbery in a tree-lined setting. Internal photos depict common areas with comfortable seating and televisions, an aquarium, shared bedrooms, open kitchens, and laundry machines.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

At the time of this writing, one former client has submitted feedback about Recovery Coast to Rehabs.com. This alumnus reported a negative experience. They wrote: "Hellhole. Disorganized. The worst place in the world. Faulty drug tests. You will end up in a homeless shelter with nothing after they throw you out on the street. DONT GO!!!"

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY

On Google, there are two reviews of this facility. [1] One is from a dear friend of a former client and the status of the other reviewer is ambiguous. The dear friend rated Recovery Coast two out of five stars and offered mainly negative feedback. They wrote the following about Recovery Coast: "I have been in and around the field of recovery and was taken back at how 'small time' it felt. Most disturbing to me was the religious overtones that pervaded the whole center." This reviewer went on to say: "Conservative, boisterous, steeped in 12-Step dogma. Stay clear if you are not overtly religious."

FINANCING

Recovery Coast works with major commercial insurance providers. It accepts private pay and offers financing options through partnering with MyTreatment Lender.

goo.gl/mDcHF9
