<p><strong>ABOUT UF HEALTH - FLORIDA RECOVERY CENTER</strong></p> <p>Formally known as Shands at Vista, UF Health - Florida Recovery Center of Gainesville, Fla. offers <strong>inpatient detox and stabilization</strong>, as well as a <strong>partial hospitalization program (PHP)</strong> and intensive outpatient (IOP) program. The center specializes in treating complex cases, including individuals with chronic pain, multiple substance misuse issues, and <a href="https://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring disorders</a>.</p> <p>According to the center's website, UF Health - Florida Recovery Center combines the established principles of evidence-based addiction treatments with the vast knowledge and capabilities of a leading academic medical center.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Upon arrival, clients undergo an initial assessment consisting of medical consults, comprehensive labs, and psychological testing to create an <strong>individualized treatment plan</strong>, which identifies problems, interventions, and goals. UF Health - Florida Recovery Center also offers <strong>specialized programs for professionals and young adults</strong>.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Florida Recovery Center's treatment team includes medical doctors, nurses, therapists, licensed clinical social workers, all trained in psychiatry, therapy, and/or addiction medicine. In addition, certified addiction professionals and licensed mental health counselors are on staff. Of the 12 individuals surveyed by Rehabs.com to date, the seven survey respondents polled on the matter appreciated the aptitude of staff.</p> <blockquote> <p>Staff Experience and Training: 4/5</p> </blockquote> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>UF Health's Florida Recovery Center has <strong>20 beds</strong>. Housing for PHP clients is also offered, which consists of several small apartment suites, each of which is fully furnished with a full kitchen. On-campus amenities include <strong>an outdoor pool</strong>, a ping-pong and light sports area, a reflection pond, and a BBQ area. Clients can also participate in activities such as ropes courses or horticulture as part of treatment. Both the positive and mixed reviewers emphasized the staff's training and experience and the effectiveness of treatment as strengths. Offering a five-star rate for staff support and the respect shown to clients, Christy wrote: β€œThe counselors showed me that I was indeed just like them and that made me want to succeed and get better.” </p> <p>The mixed reviewer, who was anonymous, mostly agreed with these sentiments, though they pointed out several caveats including that there was "not enough individual time with psychiatrists."
