<p><strong>ABOUT INSPIRATIONS YOUTH AND FAMILY</strong></p> <p>Located in the coastal city of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Inspirations Youth and Family offers <strong>gender-specific residential treatment to <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/is-my-child-just-experimenting/" target="_blank">adolescent clients</a></strong> seeking recovery from issues with substance use, placing it amongst the <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/FL16.pdf" target="_blank">153 (21.4 percent)</a> programs in the state with a focus on this age group. In addition, <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">dual diagnosis</a> services are provided at the center, which is also one of the only <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/FL16.pdf" target="_blank">73 (10.2 percent)</a> non-hospital facilities in Florida where <strong>detox services are available.</strong></p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Detox services last between three to seven days. While treatment philosophy is mostly centered around an <strong>accountability-based, positive reinforcement model</strong> of treating clients, Inspirations employs various modalities, both <strong>evidence-based and holistic</strong>, while treating clients. Treatment is individualized according to clients' needs and values.</p> <p>Programs include treatment for drugs, alcohol, prescription medications, and mental health concerns. Modalities include <strong>cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)</strong>, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, along with <strong>music, pet, and drama therapy</strong>, among many more.</p> <p>In the residential program, clients develop coping skills, accountability for actions, and respect for loved ones. Both gender-specific programs also target behavioral issues common among male and female adolescents.</p> <p>An <strong>educational program</strong> allows clients to continue academic coursework and take GED, SAT, ACT, and college preparatory classes. Inspirations also offers intervention services, court-ordered teen rehab, and a summer program. The <strong><a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/the-pain-of-addiction-in-the-family-how-counseling-can-help" target="_blank">family therapy program</a></strong> includes a monthly family weekend with workshops, lectures on family dynamics, and one-on-one time between clients and their loved ones.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Inspirations' staff include registered nurses, a licensed practical nurse, licensed care social workers, primary therapists, a medical doctor, a doctoral-level licensed mental health counselor, and a nutritional consultant, among others. In Florida, <a href="https://www.samhsa.gov/data/sites/default/files/report_3059/ShortReport-3059.pdf" target="_blank">98.4 percent</a> of all substance abuse treatment facilities have continuing education requirements for staff. The sole Rehabs.com survey respondent to date, a former employee, provided only two out of five stars for the staff's level of experience and training.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>Accommodations are gender-specific. Rooms are <strong>dorm-style with bunk beds and private bathrooms</strong>. The facility also includes classrooms, nondescript furnishing, kitchens, and meeting rooms. Clients receive three meals per day with flexible dining options. </p> <p>Recreational activities include yoga; day trips to museums, beaches, and baseball games; <strong>deep sea fishing excursions</strong>, and movie nights among others. The single individual polled by Rehabs.com to date gave two-star ratings for the facility's cleanliness and maintenance.</p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>As of this writing, Rehabs.com currently has received no feedback of Inspirations from alumni or loved ones. <strong>Review coverage on third-party sites to date is overwhelmingly positive</strong>: On Google, 78 reviewers rated the facility an average 4.6 out of five stars;<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> on the facility's Facebook page, which the facility may curate, 84 reviewers rated the facility an average 4.5 out of five stars;<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-2"><sup>[2]</sup></a></small> and on CiteHealth, 32 reviewers rated the facility an average 4.1 out of five stars. </p> <p>Though negative reviewers criticized the facility's lack of oversight, confusing billing practices, and poor communication issues, the majority of reviewers (mostly loved ones) praised the facility for <strong>developing clients' life skills, continuing their academic education</strong>, and offering <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">effective dual diagnosis treatment</a>. </p> <p>"My son learned cooking skills, along with communication skills in our family therapy, plus awareness to 12 step program to help him in his recovery," one loved one wrote in a representative review. On Google, loved one S.S. added, "These teens are treated like adults which teaches them the responsibility they so dearly need. Life skills are a priority for this 5 star Rehab."</p> <p><strong>WHAT STAFF SAY</strong></p> <p>One employee polled by Rehabs.com to date gave Inspirations mostly poor ratings, rating the facility two out of five stars in holistic treatment offerings, counseling options, admissions &amp; discharge procedures, and treatment of co-occurring disorders, among many more. Although offering four stars for the amount of family participation, employee J.F. wrote: "The marketing team lies about the type of services they offer. The staff is not trained in dual diagnosis."</p> <p>On Indeed, 12 current and former staff members to date rated Inspirations an average 3.7 out of five stars,<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-4"><sup>[4]</sup></a></small> while on Glassdoor, eight staff members to date rated the facility an average 4.5 out of five stars.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-5"><sup>[5]</sup></a></small>. Employees praised the collegial atmosphere and opportunities to help adolescent clients, although a few remarked on the facility's poor organization.</p> <p><strong>FINANCIAL</strong></p> <p>Inspirations accepts private insurance policies and private pay.
