<p><strong>ABOUT COVENANT HOUSE FLORIDA - SUBSTANCE ABUSE INTERVENTION</strong></p> <p>Covenant House is a Florida-based <strong>nonprofit agency dedicated to serving runaway, homeless, and at-risk youth</strong> (including teen mothers and their babies). Originally established in 1987 as a “response to a lack of available treatment programs to youth, the nonprofit today provides substance abuse intervention under <strong>CHAMP</strong> (<strong>C</strong>ovenant <strong>H</strong>ouse <strong>A</strong>ddiction <strong>M</strong>anagement <strong>P</strong>roject) a nationally recognized, <strong>six-week residential substance abuse treatment program for youth</strong>.</p> <p>Covenant House is also just <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/FL17.pdf" target="_blank">one 135 (20.2 percent) facilities in the state dedicated exclusively to working with teens</a>.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>The assessment process is quite extensive at CHAMP. Upon entry into the six-week program, youth undergo a series of <strong>psycho-social, chemical dependency, and medical evaluations and exams</strong>, all while developing a <strong>personalized plan of care</strong> with their assigned case manager.</p> <p>Programming consists of <strong>daily participation in A.A. and N.A. meetings</strong>, individual, group, and family therapy (where appropriate), relapse prevention training, and groups designed to help youth <strong>develop healthy and appropriate skills for anger management, conflict resolution, and self-esteem</strong>. Youth also benefit from <strong>supervised, sober recreation</strong> and are subject to random drug screenings throughout their stay.</p> <p>Program participants also have opportunity to <strong>apply for a two-phase transitional housing program</strong> following successful completion of treatment.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Each youth is assigned a trained case manager throughout their CHAMP stay.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>There is currently no information provided by Covenant House regarding the living arrangements and related offerings of its six-week residential program, however, a staff member surveyed by Rehabs.com claimed that the facility is run from inside an “old” building that’s located on a “noisy and busy street.”</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>Rehabs.com has yet to receive any reviews from this facility’s alumni.</p> <p>On Google, 52 individuals awarded Covenant House Florida a slightly above average rating of 2.8 out of five stars.
