<p><strong>ABOUT CORNERSTONE RECOVERY CENTER</strong></p> <p>Established in 2012, Cornerstone Recovery Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., provides <strong>a full range of substance abuse treatment options</strong> that aim to address each client’s past, present, and future as it relates to their addiction, including treatment for <strong>co-occurring mental disorders</strong>. Programs include a <strong>partial hospitalization program (PHP), intensive outpatient program (IOP), standard outpatient option</strong>, aftercare, and alumni services. Medical detox is not provided on-site.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Treatment starts with a thorough assessment to create an individualized treatment plan, determining which program would provide the most appropriate level of care and how long treatment should last. All programs provide <strong>relapse prevention education</strong> to help clients address long-term sobriety. Although medical detox is not provided on-site, clients who require medical detox may be referred to a detox program before admission.</p> <p>Clients enrolled in PHP typically remain in treatment for <strong>30, 60, or 90 days.</strong> During this time, they follow an individualized treatment plan consisting of psychiatric consultations, <strong>group sessions, individual therapy,</strong> dietary guidance, exercise, and <strong>12-step meetings</strong>. PHP clients stay in designated <strong>off-site, gender-specific housing</strong> and have 24-hour supervision.</p> <p>Those who do not require the structure or intensity of partial hospitalization may opt for IOP or standard outpatient care. Depending on the client’s needs, treatment plans may incorporate 12-step principles, the <a href="http://www.smartrecovery.org/" target="_blank"><strong>SMART Recovery</strong></a> <strong>model</strong>, and holistic elements such as <strong>yoga, acupuncture, and massage</strong>. Additionally, treatment for those with co-occurring mental health disorders is available. The IOP program is available either in the evening or during the day to accommodate client working and school schedules.</p> <p>A specialized <strong>co-occurring services program (dual diagnosis)</strong> is available for clients who suffer from addiction and certain medical disorders, such as major depressive disorder, ADD, bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and OCD. This is available in the PHP, IOP, and OP programs and may include <strong>medication management, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).</strong></p> <p>Like all of Cornerstone’s offerings, <strong>aftercare is customized</strong> according to each client’s needs. There is no set treatment duration, and clients determine how often they’d like to meet with case managers and attend group meetings. This program is only available for clients who have completed a treatment program at the Cornerstone Recovery Center.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>According to the center’s website, the treatment team consists of licensed mental health counselors, <strong>nurses</strong>, and health and wellness professionals. A medical director, family physician, and a psychiatrist are also on staff.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>Fort Lauderdale is a <strong>resort community</strong> and offers proximity to South Florida’s sunny beaches. PHP clients stay in <strong>shared suites with two single beds</strong>, a living room, and a kitchen. Amenities include private decks and an <strong>on-site swimming pool</strong>. Clients share access to an all-inclusive kitchen. These fully-furnished <strong>recovery condos</strong> are located just a few minutes’ drive from the treatment center.</p> <p>At the facility, there are conference rooms, lounges, community rooms, and a client art gallery. The two individuals polled by Rehabs.com at this time gave Cornerstone’s accommodations and amenities four- and five-star ratings.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>Two alumni have submitted feedback for Cornerstone to Rehabs.com to date. The alumni <strong>praised Cornerstone’s facility, treatment effectiveness, and staff</strong>. Alum B.T. gave the facility perfect five-star ratings for its cleanliness, staff support, and extracurricular options. They appreciated the “small and intimate setting,” writing: “Cornerstone provided resources and tools that helped me grow and change and become a productive member of society.
