<p><strong>ABOUT THE BRADENTON BRIDGE/COMMUNITY RELEASE CENTER</strong></p> <p>Part of Bridges International, an organization designed to reduce the recidivism of inmates, Bradenton Bridge aims to <strong>assist the successful transition of incarcerated women back into the community</strong>. Located in Bradenton, Fla., the program's Community Release Center provides <strong>a transitional substance abuse program for soon-to-be-released female inmates</strong>. <strong>Detox</strong> services are not available on site. In Florida, the facility is among the <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/FL17.pdf" target="_blank">36.8 percent of facilities</a> to provide specialized programming for criminal justice clients.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>The treatment program at Bradenton Bridge is available for women <strong>within the last 36 months of their prison sentence</strong>. Clients transition into the program, which focuses on training them to reenter the community. Before admission, clients must also successfully complete the <strong>Transitional Reentry program</strong>, an intensive substance abuse treatment program, <strong>during their incarceration</strong>. </p> <p>During their stay, clients are exposed to a variety of reintegration methods focused on developing the necessary skills and resources for sober living. Clients are <strong>encouraged to find employment</strong> during the program. Job preparation and employment search coaching may be available to help clients, which is only available in <a href="https://www.samhsa.gov/data/sites/default/files/2016_NSSATS.pdf" target="_blank">38.6% of all U.S. treatment facilities</a>. The program may also provides educational opportunities for clients. </p> <p>Aspects of the center's substance abuse treatment program include <strong>12-step participation</strong>, anger management workshops, <strong>Bible studies</strong>, expressive arts, and other programming designed to help women maintain sobriety. The 12-Step program is a preferred choice for up to <a href="https://www.samhsa.gov/data/sites/default/files/2016_NSSATS.pdf" target="_blank">48% of facilities across the U.S.</a> for its religious and non-religious modalities. </p> <p>In addition to substance abuse treatment, the center also offers a range of services to promote self-sufficiency, including budgeting workshops, <strong>G.E.D. preparation and testing</strong>, computer classes, culinary classes, and other skill-building opportunities.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>The staff at Bradenton Bridges consists of highly experienced counselors, administrators, clergy, and substance abuse education staff members. The facility is licensed by Florida’s Department of Corrections. </p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>The center offers a "peer-led, peer-driven environment", where clients work with each other under the supervision of administrators and counselors. The facility can accommodate <strong>up to 36 women</strong>.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The two alumni polled by Rehab.com at the time of this writing about The Bradenton Bridge expressed starkly different opinions of the center. Out of five stars, one alum awarded five stars for the facility's discharge planning, the level of family participation, and the likelihood they'd recommend the facility to others. "Beautiful setting outside. Warm weather. Close to road," the anonymous alum wrote.</p> <p>However, the other alum offered one out of five star ratings for the facility's group counseling sessions, the respect shown to residents, and the center's ability to resolve conflict. "Low quality treatment. Was displeased with all aspects of the facility," the alum wrote.</p> <p>On Google, The Bradenton Bridge earned an average rating of <strong>4.3 out of five stars</strong> from 12 reviews to date.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> Reviewers generally described the program as highly effective in a “winnable location.”</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>From their wages, <strong>residents are required to pay for room and board</strong>, any court-ordered payments, send money home for family support, as well as setting money aside for their release.
