<p><strong>ABOUT OASIS WOMENS SOBER LIVING COMMUNITY</strong></p> <p>Founded in 1991 and located in Sylmar, Calif., Oasis Women's Sober Living Community (formerly known as Oasis Women's Recovering Community) is a <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/CA17.pdf" target="_blank">private nonprofit facility, which make up about 53 percent</a> of all treatment facilities in California; it is one of the 440 (33.6 percent) of California facilities that offers <strong>long-term, residential treatment services</strong>. It provides a sober living home to women who are struggling with substance abuse. </p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Oasis used to be a residential treatment program that was designed to treat the spiritual, emotional, and physical components of addiction. The <strong>six-month program</strong> was divided into three phases: addiction education and counseling, recovery skill building, and community reentry preparation.</p> <p>Programming included regular workshops and classes on a variety of pertinent topics, such as<strong>anger and stress management</strong>, self-esteem building, parenting skills, domestic violence recovery, job readiness, <strong>communication and healthy self-expression</strong>, and basic life skills such as budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and self-care.</p> <p>Clients also attended <strong>12-step meetings</strong> and participate in activities such as <strong>yoga</strong> and expressive arts. They were also involved in community service and are taken on <strong>leisure sober-living outings</strong> including picnics, live theater, comedy shows, and more.</p> <p>According to a <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/sober-living-at-oasis" target="_blank">GoFund me page created by Oasis</a>, the treatment center is turning the residential program into a sober living home. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>There is currently no information provided by the facility regarding its treatment staff. However, the one alum surveyed by Rehabs.com at this time of writing gave one out of five stars for staff support, and called the staff "unprofessional."</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>There is currently no information provided by the facility regarding its living arrangements and related offerings, however, the one alum polled by Rehabs.com to date gave Oasis one out of five stars for its accommodations and amenities. They also gave the facility one star for its cleanliness and described the facility as a "dump."</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The one alum surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave Oasis Women's Recovering Community a negative review. They awarded the facility just one or two out of five stars across most evaluated metrics, including exercise and leisure activities, holistic offerings, the visitor policy, counselor availability, inclusion of alternative approaches, the overall quality of counseling, and the consistency of meetings.</p> <p>The <strong>eight people to leave Google Reviews at the time of this writing gave an average of 4.1 out of five stars, and mostly positive feedback</strong>.
