The center offers <strong>treatment to men and women who are struggling with long-term substance abuse and criminal problems.</strong> </p> <p>According to New Directions' website, its mission "is to teach men and women who have lost control of their lives due to their addiction how to stop substance abuse and how to lead crime free, productive and happy lives."</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>According to New Directions' website, most <strong>clients stay in treatment between six months and a year, and the program is based on the 12-steps.</strong> The treatment center works to address more than just substance abuse such as the emotional growth and development of clients. </p> <p>Residents participate in around 55 hours of treatment a week. Programming typically includes discovery of why they are addicted, learning about their disease, <strong>learning about relapse prevention, parenting classes, GED classes on site, domestic violence classes, employment readiness skills</strong>, assistance with employment, and family reunification. <strong>Clients also participate in lectures, groups, and individual counseling.</strong> </p> <p>Client develop a written treatment plans with their counselors, and learn how to develop healthy relationships with their loved ones. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>New Directions' website indicates the facility <strong>employs 40 staffers, and provides 24/7 care</strong>. The center's counselors have a caseload of 10 clients, and most staffers are in recovery. Some employees are alumni of New Directions. The one employee polled by Rehabs.com to date gave five out of five stars for the staff's level of training and experience. </p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>New Directions' website notes the facility has room for 74 men and 20 women. Clients live in dormitories with shared bedrooms. The staffer surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave four out of five stars for accommodations and amenities. </p> <p><strong>REVIEWS</strong></p> <p>The one staffer polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave mixed feedback including just one out of five stars for treatment effectiveness, but five stars for holistic offerings and counseling options. "This was your typical run of the mill 12-step brainwash and send them out into the world with their "recovery program".
