ABOUT NORTH BAY RECOVERY CENTER

Located in a residential area close to San Francisco Bay, North Bay Recovery Center offers a 90-day residential treatment program for men struggling with substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, and process addictions such as sex, relationships, and gambling. Detox services are available on-site, and clients enrolling in the residential program must have at least 28 days sober.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

One of the primary missions at North Bay Recovery Center is to provide a safe, sober, supported, and supervised recovery environment, what the facility calls its “S4 model.” Treatment follows the 12-Steps and prioritizes community reintegration.

The 90-day treatment program is divided into three stages, each of which lasts 30 days. Throughout the process, clients keep a daily journal of their progress. In stage one, clients and their families are comprehensively and holistically assessed, and their core issues are identified. They also work on the first four steps of the 12-step model.

In stage two, they participate in individual and group therapy, identify relapse triggers, and learn coping strategies. They also have individualized family work, begin to put together an exit plan, and work on steps five through eight.

In stage three, clients focus on their re-entry into sober life. Tasks include fostering a support network, taking personal responsibility, and learning time management and scheduling skills. Stage three also provides cognitive behavioral treatment and periodic drug and alcohol testing.

An optional extended care program adds a fourth stage, which involves further life skills training and planning for work, school, or volunteering.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

According to North Bay Recovery Center’s website, the treatment team includes a consulting physician, a clinical psychologist, nurses, therapists, drug and alcohol counselors, case managers, and family counselors.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Clients attend one facility for all programming — called the Skill House — and return home to supervised houses in the neighborhood to put their programming into practice. A video posted on the facility’s website shows an attractive, homely residential facility with comfy common areas, private bedrooms, a garden, and plenty of light.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

At the time of this writing, three alumni of North Bay Recovery Center provided feedback to Rehabs.com. All gave four- and maximum five-star ratings for the quality of accommodations, treatment effectiveness, and nutrition.

One alum, who was polled on additional metrics regarding their treatment, also provided four-star ratings when asked if family and loved ones were able to participate in treatment through facility programming; if the treatment plan was affordable and/or payment plans, scholarships, or financial assistance were made available; if there were many counseling options to choose from depending on the client’s preference; and if the facility staff were experienced and well-trained.

On Facebook, 28 reviewers gave the facility 4.9 out of five stars.[1]

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY

Reports from loved ones are also very positive. The sole loved one to leave feedback with Rehabs.coma at the time of this writing shared: “The treatment that was implemented and the care that was given were beyond exceptional. We now have hope and see a future.” And on Facebook, Heidi wrote: “This mother is eternally grateful you are teaching my son to be a healthy sober and clean man, to live life on life's terms, and to respect himself and others. YOU ARE ALL AWESOME!”

FINANCING

The facility’s website notes that it accepts most forms of commercial health insurance, but not Medicare, Medicaid, Medi-Cal, or TRICARE. North Bay Recovery Center also has a relationship with Prosper Healthcare Lending to increase the accessibility of treatment to uninsured and underinsured clients.

[1] https://www.facebook.com/North-Bay-Recovery-Center-212731692098005/?ref=br_rs
