<p><strong>ABOUT OHLHOFF RECOVERY CENTER</strong></p> <p>Located in San Francisco, Ohlhoff Recovery Center offers a range of treatment programs for adults struggling with chemical dependency, as well as being one of the state's <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/CA17.pdf" target="_blank">720 (54.9 percent)</a> facilities with treatment tracks for co-occurring disorders. The facility provides a <strong>short-term inpatient program, gender-specific residential programs</strong>, a day treatment program, and one of the state's <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/CA17.pdf" target="_blank">517 (39.4 percent)</a> intensive outpatient programs (IOP). Mental health treatment may consist of ongoing psychiatric evaluations and <strong>medication management</strong>. </p> <p>Offered in both inpatient and day treatment, the Ohlhoff Recovery Center's <strong>Skip Byron Primary Program (SBPP) is a 30-day clinical program</strong> designed for adults who require a highly-structured atmosphere during the beginning stages of recovery. A women's-only, 30-day program is also available. During treatment, clients attend a highly structured schedule of <strong>individual, group, and <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/the-pain-of-addiction-in-the-family-how-counseling-can-help/" target="_blank">family counseling sessions</a></strong>, daily educational classes, and relapse prevention workshops. In addition, SBPP facilitates regular recreational outings, such as tennis, museum trips, and other recreational activities.</p> <p>OhlHoff Recovery Center also operates two long-term residential programs. The <strong>men's residential program lasts between six and 12 months</strong>, while the women's residential program lasts between three and six months. While providing the same programming as the primary 30-day program, <strong>residents are also required to work full-time, volunteer or enroll in school.</strong>. Clients share <strong>double-occupancy bedrooms</strong>, and the facility features an <strong>on-site gym</strong>, outdoor patios, and well-furnished communal areas. The men's residential program is held in a Victorian mansion in San Franciscoβs historic Alamo Square District, while the <strong>eight-bed women's residential program</strong> is held in a upscale town home.<br /> Both supervised, gender-specific residential programs offer double-occupancy bedrooms and are located near public transportation and Ohlhoff Recovery Center's outpatient location.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The sole alum polled by Rehabs.com to date praised most areas of the facility. Out of five stars, the survey respondent gave perfect five-star ratings for the facility's ability to treat co-occurring disorders and its counseling options. The alum also offered four stars for the staff's level of experience and training and the facility's discharge planning, but did give a more moderate rating of three stars for the amount of family participation. </p> <p>Reviews found through secondary sources had mixed opinions of the facility. Many reviewers cited the facility's staff as its strength. "The best, the counselors and staff are amazing and genuinely care about your recovery," A.C., a representative reviewer, wrote.
