<p><strong>ABOUT COMMUNITY RESOURCES AND SELF HELP (CRASH)</strong></p> <p>Located in San Diego, Calif., Community Resources And Self Help (CRASH) focuses on helping individuals struggling with substance misuse disorders. Founded in 1970, CRASH provides <strong>long-term residential treatment</strong> at three different locations in San Diego, each with different programs that vary in length of stay, treatment modalities, and other aspects.</p> <p>CRASH is one of <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/CA16.pdf" target="_blank">485 facilities (33.9 percent) in California</a> to offer long-term residential treatment. Additionally, the organization offers day treatment, outpatient recovery services and community education. CRASH is non-profit organization, which comprise <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/CA16.pdf" target="_blank">54.9 percent</a> of treatment facilities in the state.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Located in downtown San Diego, the Bill Dawson Residential Recovery Program offers the longest regimen of treatment, which lasts from <strong>four to six months</strong>. According to CRASH's website, it is an adult co-ed residential treatment program that utilizes the <strong>therapeutic community model of recovery</strong>. The comprehensive and holistic approach of this program is designed to encourage and help affect positive changes within the residential client.</p> <p>Two other locations provide each provide an <strong>intensive 90-day residential treatment program</strong> focused on individual responsibility for recovery and productive re-entry into the community. The Short Term I program, located in City Heights, is <strong>male-specific</strong>, while the Short Term II program, located in the Golden Hill area, is <strong>female-specific</strong>.</p> <p>All three treatment programs include individual recovery planning, <strong>individual and group therapy</strong>, group problem-solving exercises, <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/the-pain-of-addiction-in-the-family-how-counseling-can-help/" target="_blank">family nights</a>, vocational services, and educational workshops. Many of the workshops focus on <strong>relapse prevention</strong>. After completion of a program, clients participate in an <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/extended-recovery-programs/" target="_blank">aftercare program</a>.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>CRASH's treatment team consists of case managers, counselors, shift managers, program coordinators, and a support staff. The single individual polled by Rehabs.com as of this date rated the staff's experience three out of five stars.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>While CRASH's website does not provide any specific information regarding accommodations and amenities, the single individual polled by Rehabs.com gave the facility two out of five stars for this metric. However, the same individual gave the facility four out of five stars for meals and nutrition, four stars for exercise and leisure, and three stars for its cleanliness.</p> <p>Regular family nights are scheduled to increase family participation and supervised parent-child visitation can be arranged. Clients participate in recreational and social activities as a group. </p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>At the time of this writing, Rehabs.com has received feedback from a single individual who gave a mixed review that skewed positive.
