<p><strong>ABOUT NEW DAWN TREATMENT CENTERS – INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT</strong></p> <p>In operation since 1987, New Dawn Treatment Centers - Intensive Outpatient (IOP) is located in Sacramento, within minutes of Highway 50. One of the organization’s two CARF-accredited IOP locations, the program is designed specifically for recent graduates of either a residential or detox program, or those with substance abuse concerns who are not in need of detox or 24-hour care. <strong>Detox</strong> is not available on site, but is available through other New Dawn Treatment Centers. <strong>Residential treatment</strong> is also available at other centers. <a href="https://www.recovery.org/topics/extended-recovery-programs/" target="_blank">Lifetime aftercare support</a> is provided to clients that complete the program.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Prior to admission, prospective clients begin with a free <strong>confidential assessment</strong>. Clients meet with trained addiction counselors to assess their individual needs. Then, an individualized treatment program is created for each client. </p> <p>The New Dawn Treatment Centers - Intensive Outpatient program (IOP) combines <strong>evidence-based</strong> modalities such as <strong>cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with experiential opportunities</strong> and programming. Treatment typically lasts <strong>six to eight weeks</strong> and focuses on four main areas: <strong>coping skills, relapse prevention, the neurobiology of addiction, and patient-centered treatment planning</strong>.</p> <p>Clients participate in individual and group counseling sessions three to five days per week. Morning, afternoon, and evening sessions are offered to accommodate for anyone’s schedule. Clients are engaged in <strong>three daily hours of one-on-one and group therapy sessions</strong> led by licensed addiction counselors. In addition, the IOP introduces clients to <strong>12-step AA and/or NA meetings</strong>, as well as <a href="http://lifering.org/" target="_blank">LifeRing</a>, an abstinence-based support services network, and <a href="http://www.smartrecovery.org/resources/library/Articles_and_Essays/Stages_of_Change/Stages_of_Change.pdf" target="_blank">SMART Recovery</a>. </p> <p>Aside from clinical treatments, the program uses experiential treatments. These include options such as Yoga and Tai Chi led by qualified leaders. Clients are also encouraged to participate in family counseling when possible. <br /> Aftercare services are available to clients that complete the program. Community group involvement is encouraged. There is also an alumni group for clients that complete the program. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong> </p> <p>New Dawn Treatment Centers is led by a Ph.D.-level clinical psychologist, a psychiatrist, and a physician who is also a board-certified addictionologist. IOP services are conducted by licensed addiction counselors and program counselors, and holistic group specialists lead clients through yoga, acupuncture, equine therapy, and more.The facility and program are CARF accredited. </p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>To date, Rehabs.com has received feedback from two former clients. The feedback was positive.</p> <p>Alum D.A.W. found favor in the lifetime of aftercare support and noted that he would definitely recommend the facility to others. The counselors there payed very little attention to me, and I felt like I was pretty much on my own.”</p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>At the time of this writing, two loved ones provided feedback about New Dawn Treatment Center. Their feedback was mixed. </p> <p>Loved ones gave four out of five stars for facility cleanliness, the staff experience, and affordability. The loved ones commented about the knowledgeable and “endlessly patient” doctors and great family services. </p> <p>Though the pair gave high four- and maximum five-star ratings for the facility’s family participation, one reviewer wished there were “more phone calls,” and the other wrote: “The rigidity of the program was the main thing I disliked. Too many rules, to the point of being excessive and unnecessary, without real rhyme or reason.”</p> <p>The loved ones disagreed about the program’s treatment effectiveness. One gave four out of five stars, while the other only gave two stars.</p> <p><strong>WHAT STAFF SAY</strong></p> <p>At the time of this writing, only one staff member has provided feedback about New Dawn Treatment Center to Rehabs.com. The anonymous staff member wrote: “ The facility is very clean and friendly. Staff is very professional and attentive.
