There is also a transitional housing option for those who successfully complete the treatment program.

GNRM was founded in 1964 by a group of Christians who wanted to provide human services to their community, and treatment is entirely faith-based. The facility has now grown to provide a full range of social services, including shelters for homeless, a distribution center for used clothes and other resources, food services, job training and a resource center, and medical services.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The facility’s treatment program is a long-term, faith-based residential program that meets the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of the clients. The program is primarily centered around the “Genesis Process”, a program that combines “a Biblical and neurochemical understanding of what is broken that causes us to be self-destructive”, according to the Genesis Process website.

The residential program lasts 18 months and includes Bible study, relapse prevention education, anger management education, vocational training, and practice living a disciplined Christian life. There are separate programs for men and women, both utilizing similar curriculum. Following treatment, there is a graduate transitional housing option for those in need of extra postgraduate support, transportation, mentors, and food assistance.

In order to be admitted, clients complete a detailed application that is reviewed by the program manager to determine eligibility. Once admitted, clients receive weekly drug, alcohol, and nicotine testing and must abstain from these substances.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

There is currently no information provided by the facility regarding its treatment staff. However, one staff member has been surveyed by Rehabs.com and he identified himself as a full time counselor at the facility. This staff member reported that there were two licensed medical professionals on staff and one contracted medical professional.
