<p><strong>ABOUT MEN'S MAHALO DETOX TREATMENT</strong></p> <p>A program of Akua, a drug and alcohol addiction treatment facility in Southern California, Mahalo is a <strong>state-licensed and Joint Commission accredited detox facility for men</strong> addicted to, heroin, meth, Vicodin, and other substances.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>The gender-specific detox process at Mahalo consists of three separate phases: <strong>evaluation, stabilization, and continuing care</strong>. In evaluation, men are assessed for the severity of their substance abuse as well as for any present co-occurring mental health disorders. The stabilization phase uses <strong>medication and psychosocial interventions</strong> to facilitate a steady and safe withdrawal. Following stabilization, men work together with their counselor to <strong>determine the next step</strong>, be it residential, intensive outpatient (IOP), or traditional outpatient care.</p> <p>Additional offerings include <strong>trauma and music therapy</strong>.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Mahalo is overseen by a <strong>licensed vocational nurse</strong> who has clinical experience in psychiatric, surgical, pediatric and other areas.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>While at Mahalo, men stay in <strong>large, shared rooms</strong> with simple, pleasant décor and high ceilings. Depending on their energy level while in detox, men can practice <strong>yoga or mindfulness</strong>, or, weather permitting, go for a swim in the <strong>outdoor pool</strong>.
