<p><strong>ABOUT VETERANS AFFAIRS SEPULVEDA AMBULATORY CARE CENTER</strong></p> <p>A part the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (VAGLAHS), the Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center (SACC) is an <strong>outpatient facility for veterans</strong>. Located in Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley, it provides treatment for alcohol and substance use disorder, as well as psychiatry and psychology services. Detox is not available.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>The VA Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center is one of <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/CA17.pdf" target="_blank">182 (13.9 percent) of California facilities</a> accredited by the Joint Commission. It provides treatment to veterans in good standing and those with veterans benefits. </p> <p>The facility provides a range of medical and behavioral health services. These include treatments for substance abuse and trauma-related disorders like PTSD. The facility is a part of the <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/CA17.pdf" target="_blank">80 percent of California facilities</a> that provide <strong>trauma-related counseling</strong> and related services. </p> <p>The VA partners with a wide range of medical partners including major hospitals to support veterans with medical and social assistance.</p> <p>The one alum surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing indicated that they received <strong>individual counseling</strong> three hours a week and attended 25 <strong>group therapy sessions</strong> each week. They also noted that the program encourages clients to <strong>attend Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings</strong>. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>The VA Sepulveda employs a team of medical and behavioral health specialists including counselors that have extensive experience in trauma-related treatments. Clients have access to case managers as well. The one former client polled by Rehabs.com to date gave SACC five out of five stars for its level of staff support, its staff's level of training and experience, and the overall quality of the program's lead counselor.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The single alum surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave SACC a positive review, awarding the facility five out of five stars for its level of staff support and its frequency and consistency of meetings. When asked, on a scale from one to five, if they would recommend the facility, alum J.R.C. gave SACC a rating of five.</p> <p>On Google, SACC as a whole (which includes primary medical care) received an average rating of <strong>4.1 out of five stars based on 144 reviews</strong> to date.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> Reviewers indicated that medical staff had a “genuine interest” in helping patients and were “very knowledgeable.” Complaints were fairly minimal and included a lack of direct phone extensions and firing a physiatrist while staff “told patients nothing.”</p> <p>On Yelp, the facility has an average rating of 3.5 out of five stars based on 30 reviews, as well as three five-star reviews, one four-star review, and one one-star review that are not currently recommended.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-2"><sup>[2]</sup></a></small> <small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-3"><sup>[3]</sup></a></small> Reviews were mixed, While reviewers expressed frustration at specific staff members, others were satisfied with staff.
