ABOUT WOODGLEN RECOVERY JUNCTION

Woodglen Recovery Junction is a nonprofit organization located in Fullerton, Calif., that’s dedicated to serving men and women struggling with substance and other issues. One of just 440 (33.6 percent) residential treatment programs in California, Woodglen has helped thousands of individuals and families since having first opened its doors more than 35 years ago. Today, in addition to its 60- to 90-day programs, the state-licensed center is also one of 197 (15.0 percent) centers in the state to provide medical detox services.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Treatment at Woodglen Recovery Junction is firmly rooted in the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and divided into four distinct phases. The center aims to go beyond the surface-level consequences of addiction by working with each client in addressing “underlying issues and myths that perpetuate the disease.”

Medical detoxification typically lasts five to seven days. This brief period helps clients begin healing physically with the support and monitoring from a 24-hour trained staff. Once stabilized, clients transition into Phase II for primary care, a 30- to 45-day intensive recovery curriculum that involves one-on-one counseling, group and family therapy, education on addiction, and 12-step meetings. There’s also time for recreation, spiritual guidance, and meditation.

Phase III is a 30- to 60-day period in which clients are expected to spend time mentoring new residents as they continue their own programming and search for employment. In the fourth and final phase, clients move into a less restrictive and structured living environment where the focus is on reintegrating into the community and receiving vocational assistance.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The clinical team at Woodglen Recovery Junction consists of licensed and master’s level counselors and therapist, a dietician, case managers, and recovery advisors, individuals with firsthand addiction recovery experience.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Woodglen is a two-story, historic home built in 1887. According to the center's website, clients can expect field trips and nutritional and fitness assessments.

While few further details regarding the residence are provided, the single Rehabs.com survey respondent polled on the matter shared five out of five stars for Woodglen's meals and accommodations.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

The sole alum surveyed by Rehabs.com to date celebrated the staff. “The is majic because of the people who run it and work there clients as well.
