ABOUT STEPHOUSE RECOVERY

Based in the beachside community of Southern California’s Fountain Valley, StepHouse Recovery offers gender-specific residential, outpatient, intensive outpatient (IOP), sober living housing, and treatment for adults. The center treats substance abuse as well as behavioral issues, eating disorders, and process addictions. Detox is available on-site.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Prior to admission, clients at StepHouse Recovery undergo an in-person diagnostic assessment to help determine what level of care is most appropriate. If necessary, clients can start treatment with medically supervised detox, either on a residential or outpatient basis. Once clients are stabilized, they begin an intensive outpatient program (IOP) or residential treatment depending on their needs.

The center’s approach to treatment is based on 12-step principles and includes individual and group counseling sessions. According to the facility’s website, the environment is functional and rooted in real life so that clients can apply their experiences to long-term recovery after treatment. In addition to counseling, there is a strong focus on addiction education and relapse prevention.

Residential treatment is separated into gender-specific facilities and treatment methods. The treatment process is divided into three phases focusing on a gradual transition out of treatment. The first phase focuses on creating a sober living environment where clients can focus on developing sober living skills and breaking old habits.

The second phase of treatment is designed to help clients take their new sober living skills and apply them to a lifestyle in a new location. Clients begin the transition process while creating a lifestyle based on their sober living skills. The third phase of treatment completes the transition process and helps clients establish their new lifestyle in permanent housing. Clients also establish connections with community resources that promote sober living.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The StepHouse Recovery staff includes clinicians, therapists, psychologists, social workers, and marriage and family therapists. The facility’s sober living homes and residential facilities also include on-site managers for around-the-clock support.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

The gender-specific recovery homes are in quiet, peaceful neighborhoods. Both facilities offer private and semi-private bedrooms. They also have many amenities, including backyards, barbecues, fully equipped kitchens, home entertainment rooms with cable TV, Internet access, laundry facilities, computer stations, and gym memberships.
