The facility is a part of the <a href="https://www.samhsa.gov/data/sites/default/files/2016_NSSATS.pdf" target="_blank">19% of U.S. facilities</a> accredited by the Joint Commission. </p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>Costa Mesa is a <strong>122-bed facility</strong> in Orange County, CA, with 99 of those beds dedicated to psychiatric care. Private rooms on the medical floor are subject to availability. The facility is a part of the hospital and clinical in nature. Sharp objects such as razors, scissors, pictures frames, and mirrors are prohibited, as are shoelaces, belts, and any clothing with drawstrings or long ties. Security measures are in place for the safety of the clients as well as the surrounding public. One alum who attended the facility “mainly to detox” explained to Rehabs.com that they’d recommend treatment to a friend “if they just wanted to detox and get set up with great options.” However, the alum offered four stars for the effectiveness of individual counseling, the facility's ability to resolve conflict, and the training of staff members.</p> <p>The other alum celebrated the “adequate amount of groups and therapy” but was critical of the bedding and “very outdated” atmosphere. “I would not recommend going there unless you're able to fight good,” they warned others, citing altercations between male clients. "I was admitted to the adolescent psych ward and it was decent. However, the loved ones gave a four- and a five-star rating for facility cleanliness and maintenance, respectively. "Staff was very supportive.
