ABOUT ASAP REHAB

Headquartered in Claremont, California, ASAP (Alcohol and Substance Abuse Programs) Rehab provides a full continuum of care to individuals struggling with substance use disorder or dual diagnosis. In addition to residential treatment, outpatient programs, and medically monitored detox, the facility has a young adult program for clients between the ages of 18 and 30. ASAP Rehab is one of 472 facilities in California to provide programming specific to young adults, which make up 33 percent of all treatment facilities in the state.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

All clients receive a comprehensive assessment upon admission to determine the appropriate level of care. Residential treatment utilizes evidence-based techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), the latter of which is offered by less than half (47 percent) of all substance abuse treatment facilities in California. Clients with co-occurring disorders are prescribed medication, if necessary.

In addition to one-on-one counseling and group therapy, clients participate in regular psycho-educational groups, relapse prevention training classes, life skills workshops, and spiritual development groups. Experiential activities such as art, adventure, and music therapy are also offered.

Outpatient options include a day program and an intensive outpatient program (IOP), which are often recommended as a form of step-down treatment from residential care. ASAP Rehab also offers an extended care program and sober living facilities.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

According to the facility's website, ASAP Rehab has a 1:2 staff-to-client ratio. The treatment team includes a licensed psychiatrist who specializes in addiction medicine, as well as a licensed vocational nurse, a master's-level therapist, and residential technicians.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Residential clients live in well-appointed houses and are provided with three chef-prepared meals a day. Private rooms are available, though most clients are encouraged to share a bedroom with a roommate.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

While Rehabs.com has not yet received any reviews from this facility’s alumni, ASAP Rehab earned average ratings of 3.5 out of five stars based on 13 Google reviews[1] and 3.5 out of five stars based on 11 Yelp reviews[2] (three of which were "unrecommended"). Former clients who were happy with the rehab described it as an intimate and effective recovery program with a comfortable detox. And nearly all alumni, even the ones that were dissatisfied with their treatment, praised the staff for being helpful and compassionate. "The staff that works here, not all, but most actually care about the clients and try to help as much as they can," Samantha told Google in a representative review.

However there were an equal amount of complaints from former clients, the most common of which included lack of supervision, questionable billing practices, and subpar accommodations and amenities. "It helps, but it's a budget, no-frills (and I mean NOOOOO FRILLS) option," wrote Paul in a review representative of negative feedback. "People in recovery don't need the stress of fighting for essentials that they have at home."

WHAT STAFF SAY

Maria, the one staff member polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing, noted that she would recommend the facility to others. She awarded the facility five out of five stars for its honesty in marketing and public relations, its respect for protocols surrounding clients' privacy, and its staff's experience and treatment credentials. "Knowledgable, caring staff," Maria wrote.

FINANCING

According to the facility's website, ASAP Rehab works with most major health insurance companies, including Aetna, Cigna, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. It is among the 54 percent of California facilities that accept private insurance in some form. Additionally, some financial assistance is available to qualifying individuals, and clients may apply for personal loans through a partnership with Prosper Health.

[1] GoogleReviews
[2] https://www.yelp.com/biz/asap-drug-alcohol-addiction-treatment-rehab-altadena
