<p><strong>ABOUT RENEWAL RANCH</strong></p> <p>Set amid woods and rolling fields, on a bend of the Arkansas River in rural central Arkansas, Renewal Ranch (RR) provides a <strong>faith-based, long-term residential</strong> program for <strong>adult men</strong> struggling with substance abuse.It is one of only <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/AR16.pdf" target="_blank">27 long-term residential facilities in Arkansas</a> and one of <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/AR16.pdf" target="_blank">41 facilities in the state that offers programs specifically tailored to adult men.</a></p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Prior to admission, potential clients and their families must attend a Renewal Ranch chapel service. He must then complete a written application and be interviewed by the Executive Director or the Assistant Director of the program.</p> <p>The program <strong>lasts 12 months</strong> and is split into two phases, only the first of which requires clients to live on-campus. RR's philosophy is founded on a teaching from Corinthians: "This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!" As such, the center aspires to <strong>lead its residents into a "loving relationship with Jesus,"</strong> as a means of overcoming substance abuse issues. Treatment is built around an atmosphere of love, Bible study, camaraderie, spiritual discipline, and service to others.</p> <p>During the first six months of treatment — Phase I — residents are required to live on campus and attend <strong>group meetings, Bible study, individual mentoring sessions, and church services:</strong> a total of 15 classes per week. This educational component is conducted Monday through Wednesday. On Thursdays and Fridays, residents complete <strong>community service and work projects,</strong> and weekends are spent in church duties and family visits. Also during Phase I, residents work with mentors to put together a "Man Plan" that details strategies for improving their life in all areas. </p> <p>Phase II lasts at least six months, and clients may move off-campus during this period. RR offers local low-income housing for men during this phase in order to get them away from the environment they associate with substance abuse. <strong>Phase II primarily involves weekly meetings with a mentor,</strong> who ensures that the client is putting their Man Plan into practice.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Staff includes a chaplain as well as numerous individuals who are themselves in recovery, some of them graduates of the RR program. There do not appear to be any medical professionals on staff. The single alum polled by Rehabs.com to date gave the facility perfect-five star ratings for the level of training found in its counselors and the level of staff support available.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>The ranch is a <strong>105-acre campus</strong> in Perry County, Arkansas. Residents sleep in three bunkhouses, each of which has between three and six <strong>shared bedrooms</strong>. There is also a separate bathhouse with showers and laundry machines, as well as a kitchen in the main bunkhouse. There is a workshop on site where residents help to maintain facility vehicles and equipment and conduct community outreach. </p> <p>Ultimately, RR plans to build 11 bunkhouses as well as a playground for children on family visits. The ranch also features <strong>a garden that was planted and is now maintained by residents of RR.</strong> The single alum polled by Rehabs.com to date gave the facility five out of five stars for its accommodations, meals, cleanliness, and exercise and leisure offerings.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The single alum polled by Rehabs.com to date would recommend Renewal Ranch. "There were good accomodation and meals," they wrote anonymously, giving the facility five out of five stars in almost all of the evaluated treatment metrics, including its holistic offerings and the overall quality of its individual and group counseling.</p> <p>Secondary sites yielded <strong>almost exclusively positive feedback</strong> at the time of this writing.
