<p><strong>ABOUT SONORA BEHAVIORAL HEALTH</strong></p> <p>Established in 1994, Sonora Behavioral Health is a psychiatric hospital located in the city of Tuscon, Arizona. It is one of only <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/AZ17.pdf" target="_blank">18 hospital inpatient programs in Arizona</a> that offers <strong>inpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization treatment</strong> for individuals struggling with substance abuse, mental health, and <a href="https://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring disorders</a>. Treatment is available to <strong>adults, children, and adolescents</strong> Sonora has been recognized by Optum as a Platinum inpatient provider of behavioral health services as part of the Achievements in Clinical Excellence facility measurement.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Treatment plans are customized to the individual and length of treatment varies. Inpatient patients can expect to take part in <strong>two or three different group therapy sessions daily</strong> which incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. They also attended peer led groups based on the <strong>12-steps</strong> which are used in <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/AZ17.pdf" target="_blank">59.2% of Arizona facilities.</a> Education groups and family meetings are also components of treatment.</p> <p>The IOP and PHP programs are step-down programs for individuals who have completed an inpatient program or who do not require the amount of stability of an inpatient program.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Sonora's staff consists of psychiatrists, medical doctors, master’s level social workers, nurses, dietitians and behavioral health technicians. The singe individual polled by Rehabs.com awarded the staff's level of training and support a perfect five out of five stars.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>Sonora Behavioral Health is a <strong>140-bed</strong> acute inpatient psychiatric hospital. Photos on the facility's website depict a clean, clinical environment with hardwood floors and comfortable common areas.</p> <p><strong>REVIEWS</strong></p> <p>To date, only one individual has responded to the Rehabs.com survey. The anonymous loved one shared positive opinions of the facility, including a five star rating for treatment effectiveness. They felt that separation from family was a weakness of the program, but also wrote "This is the only center in southern Arizona for kids and Teens. They are able to help your child and they are dedicated to restoring them back to healthy and happy."</p> <p>On Google 63 reviewers gave an average rating of 2.2 out of five stars, with the majority of these being one star reviews. Most of the complaints focused on the staff. "The staff there are lazy, incompetent and uncaring.
