<p><strong>ABOUT LA FRONTERA ARIZONA</strong></p> <p>Headquartered in Tucson, Arizona, La Frontera Arizona provides a variety of <strong>health and human services</strong>, including housing, employment assistance, education, and assistance for children and families. </p> <p>Substance abuse and behavioral health treatment are among the organization’s services, and programming includes <strong>outpatient</strong> and <strong>long-term residential treatment</strong> for individuals struggling with <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring disorders</a>. La Frontera Arizona is a private nonprofit facility, which make up about <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/AZ16.pdf" target="_blank">half of all treatment facilities in Arizona</a>; it is one of the 73 (20.4 percent) of Arizona facilities that offer long-term, residential treatment services.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>According to the facility’s website, La Frontera’s outpatient clinic provides services for adults, children, and families. For adult clients who require more comprehensive treatment and a structured environment, the organization operates its long-term residential facility, called Casa de Vida.</p> <p>Programming is <strong>evidence-based</strong> and includes six clinical hours each day. Clients spend this time participating in a mix of <strong>educational workshops</strong>, <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/sad-lets-talk-about-seasonal-affective-disorder-and-relapse/" target="_blank">relapse prevention</a> activities, individual counseling, <strong>group therapy</strong>, and peer counseling. </p> <p>Therapeutic modalities include motivational interviewing, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and <strong>dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)</strong>. Clients receive <strong>case management</strong> and referrals for medical treatment if needed.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>According to the facility’s website, the staff includes <strong>licensed psychologists</strong>, physicians, clinical psychologists, <strong>social workers</strong>, recovery technicians, registered nurses, and other behavioral health professionals. La Frontera has several CARF accredited programs, placing it among the <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/AZ16.pdf" target="_blank">30 percent of Arizona facilities to receive some sort of CARF accreditation</a>.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>Other than the fact that Casa de Vida has <strong>53 beds</strong>, there is currently no information provided by the facility regarding its living arrangements and related offerings.” To date, the three individuals polled on La Frontera’s accommodations and amenities, as well as its cleanliness, each gave it five out of five stars.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The one alum surveyed by Rehabs.com to date gave La Frontera mostly positive reviews, with some reservations. The anonymous 40 to 59-year old male, who noted that the program taught him helpful recovery skills, gave the facility four or five out of five stars for its counseling options, its holistic offerings, its cleanliness, and its administrative and discharge procedures. A lower rating of two stars was given to the rehab for its staff's level of training and experience, and the alum reported that staff dated clients during his time in treatment.</p> <p>On Google, the facility earned an average rating of <strong>three out of five stars</strong> based on 50 reviews.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> The majority of comments were negative and claimed that the customer service was poor and the treatment was ineffective. "Absolutely horrible. Really, look elsewhere. Zero therapeutic benefit here. Just added frustration and b.s.," Amy wrote in a representative review.</p> <p>However, a handful of Google reviewers did note that they found success in the program, despite its shortcomings, including Carissa who explained: "Yes la frontera is an imperfect system. There are some issues however understanding is needed. There is a heavy caseload there. "Lafontra saved my life when I was up against the was an I will allways be in debited to them," Glyn wrote in a representative review.</p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>All of the three loved ones polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing reported that they would recommend La Frontera Arizona to family and friends. Two of those anonymous respondents gave the facility high ratings, including four or five out of five stars for its family participation, its cleanliness, its counseling options, and its treatment of co-occurring disorders. The third reviewer, while noting the rehab's "clean and structured environment," ultimately maintained that the facility's "conditions not in-line with my personal expectations"</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>According to its website, the center accepts Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), as well as some private insurance plans.
